Premier Pups is a state-registered organization that specializes in raising purebred Schnauzer and Cavapoo puppies, as well as other breeds. Our name, “Premier,” comes from our over 15 years of experience in breeding these wonderful dog breeds. The Schnauzer dog breed originated in Germany from the 14th to the 16th centuries, and the term comes from the German word for “snout,” colloquially meaning “moustache” or “whiskered snout” due to the dog’s distinctively bearded snout. Schnauzers were bred as versatile farm dogs and come in three sizes: Miniature (often known as small or mini Schnauzers), Standard, and Giant. The Schnauzer dog breed is intelligent, playful, jolly, and affectionate, thriving on human interaction. They get along well with other pets in the household but may chase after stray animals. Protective and brave, Schnauzer dogs make great watchdogs and guard dogs. The wiry coats of Schnauzer dogs are low-shedding but require high-maintenance. As athletic working dogs, they need extensive daily exercise with an average lifespan of 12-16 years. We breed both Miniature and Standard breeds.
